The ability to express feelings is one of the first skills children develop. Children do not have full control of those feelings until they are much older. It is our job as caregivers to teach children how to work through and communicate their feelings. How many times have you said “you’re okay, you’re fine, stop crying”? Those phrases shut children’s emotional intelligence down instead of building it up. During this course; you will learn key terminology, strategies to increase trust, and environmental changes to consider for a more accepting classroom space.
