Sunflower Health Plan

Gabrielle Antoinette Owens-Bruce
Clinical Assessor at Maximus Health Systems
Professional Background
I have worked in the community health sector since graduating, with a focus on FQHCs and the managed care space. My experience spans direct service, outreach, and health plan engagement to support underserved populations.
Current Role and Responsibilities on the board and/or committees
I currently service on the scholarship review committee, evaluating scholarship essays that are being submitted for consideration for the Dottie Bishop Scholarship.
Expertise and Skills
With a background in community health and hands-on experience in both Federally-Qualified Health Centers and managed care, I bring a strong understanding of healthcare access, member engagement, and the unique needs of underserved populations — insights that directly support the mission and strategic goals of this board.
Community Involvement and Affiliations
I currently serve as a Director for the Miss Wichita Organization Scholarship Pageant, Miss Juneteenth ICT Scholarship Pageant and as a board member for The Princess Project. All three of these roles have instilled in me a deep commitment to service and advocacy, especially for children and families. Serving on this board allows me to continue that mission by supporting early childhood education and strengthening community resources for those who need them most.
Personal Note:
I consider myself a sponge, always looking to learn and absorb new information. I love pouring into myself so that I am able to pour into others. That can look like cooking, shopping or going for a walk with my very-opinionated Shih Tzu, Cocoa.
