Annual & Ongoing Events

Child Start holds several events throughout the year for fundraising, item collection for 0-5 children, education, and fun.  There are many ways to participate!

A family-friendly, mini music festival for families with young children. The Family Jam Fest includes story-tellers, clowns/entertainers, musical acts, food trucks, and booths for local businesses and vendors. Fun for all ages! This event would not be possible without our many volunteers!

Hats & Mittens

Held in the winter, Child Start seeks donations of youth-sized hats & mittens to provide to local Head Start children.  Volunteers needed for sorting day.

Camp GWC

Held late March or early April, Camp GWC is one of Kansas’ largest early childhood education conferences.  Open to anyone who works with young children, and to parents.  Exhibit, donation, presentation, and sponsorship opportunities available for most all business types.  Volunteers needed the week before the conference and on conference day.

Staff Health Fair

Held the first week of April, the Staff Health Fair is an event for Child Start staff to learn about local opportunities that contribute to their personal success.  Vendors are invited to have a booth to share about their services and contribute door prizes.  The focus of vendors are those in the financial, mental and physical health fields.
