Damon Ward

Vice President, Corporate Controller & Principal Accounting Officer

Damon has been a CPA for over 25 years, and served in a progression of leadership roles, including most recently at Spirit AeroSystems where he is responsible for all accounting and tax matters across Spirit subsidiaries on a global basis.  Additionally, Damon serves as a board member for Spirit’s international subsidiaries, chairs Spirit’s Disclosure Committee, is a member of Spirit’s Retirement/Investment Committee, Compliance Committee, and Enterprise Security Council.

Damon has served as a Child Start, Inc. board member for over two years, had served as a member of the finance committee, and is currently a member of the governance committee.

Damon leverages over 28 years of finance experience, to help Child Start and the board quickly identify risks, continue to build a data-driven culture, and drive the expectation of continuous improvement while building engaged and satisfied teams.  

Damon serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Barton School of Business at Wichita State University and a member of the Wichita State University School of Accountancy Advisory Board. He also previously served as the Chairman of the Board for the Kansas Society of CPAs, and a Member of Council for the AICPA. 

 In his spare time, Damon enjoys cooking, travel, watching Kansas City Chiefs football, college basketball, landscape photography and cycling.
