CCQIS-Regional Community Consultant
Peer support network of early childhood professionals and regional community consultants that meet monthly to work collectively towards shared goals.

Child Care Health Consultant
High-quality Child Care Health Consultations are available to help child care providers identify ways to support health, safety and wellness in the program. Providers will receive consultation services from an assigned consultant in their public health region. The role of the Child Care Health Consultant is to promote the health and development of children, families and staff and to ensure a healthy and safe child care environment

Early Childhood Block Grant – Harvey County
Working with this specialist to educate providers on how to communicate with parents on the importance of early identification and referral, working with families to complete ASQ screenings, and conducting CLASS Tool assessments on providers.

Past State-wide Projects

  • Kansas Quality Rating System (KQRIS)
    A child care five-star rating program. KQRIS provides child care programs with technical assistance from child care resource and referral (CCR&R) plus a variety of incentives including: grants, quality awards, education scholarships, and salary supplements.

  • T.E.A.C.H.
    T.E.A.C.H. scholarships make higher education affordable for the early childhood workforce and provide compensation incentives to encourage further study and retention.

  • WAGE$
    WAGE$ is a salary supplement program which rewards child care providers for continuing their education and remaining in the field.

  • Strengthening Families
    Focuses on developing the child care professional and parent relationship to support and strengthen the parent—child relationship.

  • Step It Up Early Childhood Wellness Project
    Works with child care providers to improve physical activity, nutrition, and health outcomes for children and families.

  • Quality Steps Project
    Supports child care providers in increasing the quality of care for infants/toddlers by providing professional development and technical assistance.
